Mizuno Ami was the first of the Inner Senshi to be found. She was a transfer student to Juuban Junior High School. Her super genius caught the attention of Usagi and Luna, who later found that she was the the sailor soldier Sailor Mercury.
Ami is generally considered the most intelligent of the Inner Senshi. Successful in school, and a very book learned person, she unfortunately is unable to carry this excellence very well into battle. Suffice it to say that Sailormercury is a defensive rather than offensive fighter; thus her "attacks" are rather ineffective. Although her attacks are weaker than most of the other senshi, with her incredible intellect, she is a formidable enemy.
Ami has a conservative, shy, gentle personality which offers a stable organised platform for the somewhat roudy group to grow from. As the series progresses, she learns to relax the barriers and open herself to the other scouts.
